Ruby Dixon, MA MBA, Innovation & Programme Management Specialist

Ruby is an experienced manager who has worked in and with local government for over 25 years. After front-line managerial posts in councils in the UK and Italy, (covering service areas such as education, library and cultural services, economic development and regeneration), she moved into consultancy (CLES, Enterprise Plc, KPMG, and the Office for Public Management), specialising in strategic stakeholder engagement, and programme and change management. Ruby joined the IDeA a member of the original consultancy team, and over the past seven years held senior management roles in services such as: e-government, procurement, cohesion and well-being, national best practice schemes, strategic development and innovation) within the LG Group. She has managed council improvement and business re-engineering projects, and trans-national peer review programmes. She achieved a major policy change for the sector whilst on a secondment to a government department; and has a proven record of achieving results in in complex political environments. Ruby was runner up in the Guardian national competition for Women in Management; and holds Director’s List MBA from Manchester Business School, and has graduated from the Academy of Executive Leadership at Ashridge Business School.
On behalf of LG Group, Ruby has most recently programme managed the development of the Creative Councils innovation programme in conjunction with NESTA as well as managing other innovative campaigns in association with the innovation marketplace, quality assuring the on-going commissions (e.g. Demos thought leadership piece on liberalistion of public services); managing communications; dissemination and knowledge management; help-desk, Community of Practice facilitation, and client enquiries.
